Hey team,
It's been a while since I've published, and the first time since I moved over here to Substack. I’m excited to fill you in on everything we've been building over the past six months, starting with two important updates:
We launched a community called Huddle, a group of top entrepreneurs and investors that review pitch decks together and give critical feedback to founders.
This newsletter will now be published weekly on Substack!
What is Huddle?
Huddle is a community for entrepreneurial talent. We're starting as a Slack group that reviews pitch decks and gives critical feedback to founders together. Membership is currently free and it's a great way to connect with up-and-coming founders in New York and elsewhere, plus ideate with your builder and VC peers. We're currently in beta and taking on just a few founding members at a time. Send an email to m@thenewcompany.co if you’re interested in joining, we'd be excited to share our long-term vision for the community with you.
Companies we're supporting 👷♀️
Here are some of the companies our Huddle community is giving critical feedback and support to founders on right now:
Dentures Today - Dentures Today is the fist on-demand Denture Replacement Club, revolutionizing denture technology and getting new or replacement dentures to people affordably in days instead of weeks. (Think Candid for dentures.) The founder closing in on Series A and looking for investors, brand, and growth support.
Raga - Consumers are frustrated with current-day healthcare and ready for something new. Raga brings the 5,000-year-old science of Ayurveda to the people, combining the best plant-based products and practices with modern science. Raga is looking to meet investors for its Seed round plus product and growth talent.
Frankly - Frankly is a pre-Seed startup making braless clothing for busty millennial women - an underserved category in the fashion industry today. While at Stamford, Frankly's founders validated demand on social media with an impressive 3-4% click-through rate, $0.12-$0.16 cost per click, and 15% conversion to a 300 person waitlist. Frankly's soft launch is coming this September with a robust product launch in February 2021. The company is looking for investors for its Seed round.

BYOB Demo Day Cohort #2 - Building for the female consumer
We started a digital demo day called BYOB ("Bring your own Background") with our friends at Scout Lab. BYOB is our way of giving founders we're working with and in our close network access to investors from home. Our first cohort was on companies transforming healthcare. Our second cohort features founders solving problems for the female consumer, which represents the largest market opportunity today at over $10T in consumer spending power in the US.

Reads from the community 🗞
I wrote a Medium Post called You Don’t Need a Cofounder about why finding a co-founder isn't the right fit for everyone. The insight comes from my work with over 40 startups, plus my challenges as a founder myself. I would love to spark a conversation on the topic. What's your experience with co-foundership?
Until next week,
Mike
